There might not be real elves up at the North Pole (well, there might be), but you can still get handcrafted gifts with a bit of love and magic. There are hundreds of local small businesses and makers in the community who would be eager to help you fill your stockings. Skip the gift cards and cash; opt for a unique, thoughtful present instead.
Crafted VA has been putting on stellar markets full of the finest makers in the region for several years, and they’ve got something special under the tree for us this year. Crafted is putting on a December doubleheader featuring back-to-back markets for a weekend of spectacular shopping.
On Saturday, December 11th, Crafted will be at Coalescence for a smaller pop-up market running 12:00-5:00 PM. Aside from Coalescence slingin’ holly jolly coffee drinks, there will be over a dozen makers, hand-selected with the curatorial touch of Crafted.
On Sunday, the Crafted team decided to blow Sunday out of the water. Over 50 vendors will be on-site at Reaver Beach NFK for a massive day of holiday shopping from 12:00-6:00 PM. The day will be featuring more than just holiday cheer and shopping, though. Paper Aliens, one of Norfolk’s most beloved bands will have Nate and Jarvis on-site for a duo set. Then the legendary Nate Sacks will be taking the stage to jam the night away.
All that shopping and dancing requires refreshments, and there will be no shortage (looking at you “Supply Chain”). Reaver Beach will be pouring their crowd-pleasing beers, and double food trucks will supply the chow. Ooni Fanz Pizza will have two pizza ovens going full blast, and if we’re lucky, they’ll be bringing their meatballs along too. Umami Dogs will be loading up the dogs with their Asian-inspired toppings. Brews, Za, Dogs, what more could you want?
Vendors are still being lined up, but you can count on some of your favorite Crafted shops to be there with particular holiday-specific goods. Support local makers, give unique gifts and have a heck of a weekend with Crafted’s doubleheader on December 11th and 12th.
