Maker’s Brewery Brings Oktoberfest To Norfolk

by | Sep 22, 2022

Every year there are a few events that sneak up on you. There you were, minding your own business, and next thing you know *BAM* it hits you: “That was this weekend?”

Oktoberfest is always one of those events. That sneaky devil of a fest kicks off in September while you expect October. And this weekend is that weekend you forgot.

Germans practically invented the festival. Even the word is of German origin; ‘fest’ is straight-up German for party.

Luckily, you don’t have to hop on Lufthansa and find your way to Munich. Maker’s Craft Brewery is bringing Oktoberfest to you all weekend.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will pack festivities that’ll get you saying “Prost!” First up, Maker’s is putting together the perfect brew to get you in the spirit. It’s a classic Festbier, precisely how the Germans would want it. They’re also stocking up their merch shop with limited edition Oktoberfest shirts and mugs.

Good beer needs good food, so they’re bringing in five food trucks throughout the weekend. Each will be serving up German-inspired takes on their standard fares. The lineup includes Avocargo, Shawna’s Rich Eats, The Hot Box, Bearhouse Coffee, and Hades Wood Fired Pizza.

For all the lads in lederhosen, there will be plenty of time to get out and show off your fest grooves. Glasgow Kiss is kicking up the energy on Saturday, while the duo Paul and Chris are taking the stage Sunday. It just wouldn’t be a proper festival without those tunes!

Say “Auf Wiedersehen” to a boring weekend and get down like the Germans at Maker’s Craft Brewery.
