Over the past few years, Maker’s Craft Brewery has hosted a small battalion of food trucks and practically an entire legion of musicians. It has been an impressive feat for a relatively new brewery, having just landed on Church Street in 2019. However, while we all love food and music with our beers, it’s become the status quo. When you show up at a local brewery on any given Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night, you pretty much expect the tunes and chow to come with it. Don’t get it twisted; the writers at this outlet absolutely love the thriving scene of craft beer, food trucks, and musicians that are genuinely building Norfolk culture.
Maker’s Craft Brewery is breaking out of that mold, though. Later this month, MCB is hosting two national touring comedians. Sure, some breweries have dabbled in the comedic performances, but rarely have we seen them bring in some big hitters. On May 26th, Maker’s Craft Brewery is hosting a unique comedy show featuring Lucas Bohn and Tim Young.
Lucas Bohn has performed with comedy legends Dave Chappelle, Jimmy Fallon, and Kevin Hart. You might have even seen him on NBC’s hit show “Bring the Funny,” which left judges Jeff Foxworthy and Chrissy Teigen in stitches. He’s considered one of the most prominent up-and-comers in the industry, carrying an energetic edge.
Tim Young has headlined comedy shows across the country and performed on over 500 college campuses. He was a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and has made multiple appearances on Comedy Central. On MTV, TLC, and E, you can catch him as a featured comedic commentator. For those paying attention to all the TV happenings, he’s a hard man to miss on cable.
Both Tim and Lucas are major pulls for Maker’s, but lining up both of them is incredible. It’s safe to say this won’t be an average brewery night out. These comics have left crowds in stitches show after show, and they are not taking it easy on Norfolk. Attendees can expect to leave with cheeks and abs sore from prolonged laughter. It’s a welcome change-up from the familiar food truck and acoustic guitar combo.
