Celebrate Taco Tuesday at TFK Taco Bar
Norfolk has struck gold once again with the latest taco joint that recently emerged in the Riverview neighborhood. TFK Taco Bar serves up authentic Tejano street tacos in various flavors, meeting all of your Taco Tuesday needs.
Visit the Red Door in the Back
While the tacos at TFK are explosive in flavor, the joint is low-key with speakeasy vibes and off the beaten path. Located off the beaten path at 4140 Granby Street, there’s a sign out front of the Capt’n Crabby restaurant sharing that taco enthusiasts can find the elusive TFK Taco Bar at the “red door in back.”
Because the TFK location is so discreet, once visitors round the corner, they are met with what looks like a residential neighborhood, which might leave them wondering if they’re in the right spot. However, after looking closely, there’s a sugar skull sign sharing that TFK visitors are well on their way to tasty taco delightfulness.
The inside is a contrast from the almost easy to miss subdued exterior, with authentic and whimsical colors and welcome decorations to match the tone of the culinary experience.
Kick off the experience with a basket of chips and salsa or a plate of nachos before embarking on the taco journey. There are ten different taco varieties, ranging from a chimichurri carne to camarones con mango habanero. There are also vegan options, including a black bean and corn taco and a mushroom and eggplant option. All tacos are 100% gluten-free and 100% flavor-packed. There are several shell layers to achieve optimal fullness. Specials include mixing & matching any two or three tacos, ideal for all the indecisive people out there. For those looking to branch out from tacos, select from other options such as nachos or a cantina bowl and cap off the meal with flan.
Here’s what one customer had to say after visiting TFK: “First time eating at TFK today. Drove by and saw the sign earlier in the day and came back this evening with the hubby. The gentleman that served us was so nice, courteous, and informative. We took our food to go, but it was very nice inside. I was very surprised when we walked in. Wasn’t expecting such a pleasant atmosphere. The tacos were amazing! Told my best friend about the place already, and we plan to meet up and eat in over there soon.”
TFK offers quick and easy service with affordable yet delicious tacos, resulting in the perfect go-to Taco Tuesday hangout spot.
They’re open Tuesday-Saturday from 4 pm – 7 pm. Check out their Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest specials and updates and where you can find their food truck around Hampton Roads.
